I am an art historian, curator, museum educator, and a passionate advocate for wellness and transformative life experiences.

I moved to the Asheville area in 2011 to take a position as an Art History professor at Warren Wilson College. I’ve also had the opportunity to curate exhibitions at the Black Mountain College Museum, the Center for Craft, and the North Carolina Museum of Art. Currently, I am the director of Learning and Engagement at the Asheville Art Museum. More important than any of these endeavors is my family, including my life partner, Ken and my two boys, Elijah (19) and Jesse (12).

Since 2019, Ken and I have created a second home in Todi, Italy. We spend part of the year in our medieval house and garden in the historic center of this Umbrian hill town. I have discovered that Todi and its timeless way of life has changed me in ways that are entirely positive. I am more present, more joyful, more loving and more inspired than I used to be.

In the last two years, I’ve been focused on fully immersing myself in the passionate life surrounding me, while learning to be fully present with the most important people in my life. Now I share yoga with friends, lecture on art, contribute to art education and curatorial activities in and around Asheville, and lead The Artisan Tour.

Come join me in Asheville or Black Mountain or for a magical week in Italy, and let me show you how to slow down, immerse yourself, and truly experience the soul of a place…while simultaneously connecting to your own!
